The Local Rule of Law Research Center of Zhejiang Academy of Social Sciences was established on January 19, 2009 (Zhejiang Social Science [2009] No. 2). With the construction purpose of "giving full play to advantages and serving the overall situation", the research object is the major theoretical and practical problems arising from the local rule of law and the construction of "rule of law in Zhejiang", and the relevant basic theoretical research is taken into account.
The center undertakes the evaluation function of professional institutions for the construction of the rule of law government in Zhejiang Province and implements annual evaluation. In October 2013, the Notice of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government on printing and distributing the Implementation Standards for the construction of the Rule of Law Government in Zhejiang Province (2013) No. 50) clarified that the evaluation of professional institutions for the construction of the rule of law government in Zhejiang Province (accounting for 35% of the total value) was organized by the relevant units of the Provincial Academy of Social Sciences.
